Training and Development

We deliver webinars, workshops and courses in building personal and professional resilience. Our training is interactive and collaborative, and will be tailored to suit your specific requirements.

What is resilience training?
Resilience is not innate in some people and absent in others. It’s something we can build and cultivate over time. Our training teaches people the foundational theory behind resilience, and uses our framework of the Five Pillars of Resilience to guide participants in developing a deeper understanding of themselves, equipping them with practical strategies to increase their own strength and adaptability. Delivered by Carmel Cardona, the courses and webinars contain a mixture of theory; exercises which participants carry out themselves or in group work; and clear takeaways they can work on in their own time. We also have a range of downloadable resources to augment the training outcomes.

The Five Pillars of Resilience

We tailor our training to your needs, desired outcomes and specific participants, but all training uses the Five Pillars of Resilience as a framework, whether we go through all pillars in detail or focus in on one specifically. These five pillars encompas the theory and practical strategies our training imparts, to increase the resiliency of those who take part in the training. Briefly, they encompass:

Know Thyself: uncovering and communicating our strengths; self-reflection and self-awareness; soliciting good quality feedback
Cultivate Your Purpose: considering role models and defining our values; connecting our values with our work; creating a personal Mission Statement; how Purpose guides everything we do
Nurture Relationships: the importance of connection; altruism and asking for help; building and leaning on our network; rethinking vulnerability
Deepen Your Wisdom: changing habits; building new neural pathways; cultivating a growth mindset; rethinking failure; effective planning
Feed Your Joy: mental nutrition; bringing our whole selves to work; eudaimonic happiness; the importance of play

The key outcomes of this training are to:

  • provide participants with a common lexicon with which to discuss the theme of resilience

  • encourage individual awareness of stress signatures and triggers

  • equip participants with practical strategies they can use to build their own resilience

  • equip leaders with knowledge and tools to cultivate a culture of resilience

  • encourage a culture of learning, growth and flexibility

  • create a foundational understanding of the key elements of neuroscience and post-traumatic growth which underpin resilience
